Central Market

Chalkboard Signs

The art team had to make four a-frame size chalkboards each week. They had to be items that were in the sale flier, and we would usually try our best to select items from the different departments in the store, such as seafood, produce, bakery, etc. To save time they were all hand-painted and they all required an illustration.

Occasionally, they would ask us to come in early to paint signage on the floor if they were running a big sale that week. Sometimes we would be asked to paint on the ground for events, or way-finding signage as well.

Digital Signs

We would make digital signage for the store, or sometimes for brands that Central Market wholesales.

Most of our in-store digital signage followed the same branding as Central Market ads. We would produce them in Illustrator and then print them on 11x17 inch paper and tile them together. After tiling them we would then mount them on to large foam core boards to be displayed.

Painted Signs

These signs were cut and formed out of pink insulation board. The foam texture made it easy to cut through and create interesting shapes and it wasn’t very heavy to hang. Central Market has a few staple events that come around each year such as “Citrus,” “Taste of Texas,” “Hatch Fest,” “Passport,” and many more. Each event required a certain amount of painted signage to go with the theme that year. The art team worked together to create copy and brainstorm ideas for the signs.
